What are Raw Foods?

Well they aren’t that pale, wilted lettuce with cardboard like tomatoes in your salad.

Raw foods are plant-based foods in their original state-uncooked and alive. This includes everything from fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, sprouts, grains and legumes in sprouted form, seaweed, microalgae such as spirulina, cultured foods and fresh juices. These living foods are packed with vital nutrients and living enzymes and their properties are essential to the proper maintenance and function of the body.


Why go Raw?

The benefits of raw foods are unlimited. From digestion to nutrient density, assimilation/absorption to energy production, raw foods are power packed.

 Many studies now support the belief that living foods alleviate many illnesses such as allergies, digestive disorders, weak immune system, high cholesterol, obesity, high blood pressure and more....even cancer prevention.

Weight Loss

Raw food is brilliant for weight loss because it is low calorie and rich in fiber.

Bone Density

Raw dark green, leafy vegetables are rich in Vitamin K, which ensures bone health.


Contrary to common perception, milk is not required for calcium. Because raw foods are lower in salt and potassium, the body requires less calcium.

Vitamins and Minerals

Raw foods provide more minerals and vitamins directly from whole foods

Quality Fat

Raw foods are rich in monounsaturated fats that reduce bad cholesterol levels and the risk for heart disease.

High Blood Pressure

Less sodium from raw, uncooked foods means lower blood pressure.

Cancer Prevention

All of these benefits mean that the cells of the body are healthy, stronger, more efficient and that means less risk of abnormalities that lead to cancer cells.


Raw Spring Zucchini Noodles

4 medium zucchini, shredded
1 bunch of asparagus, cut into pieces
6 mushrooms, sliced
1 cup raw pine nuts
1cup fresh mint, chopped
1/4 cup Tbsp coconut oil
juice of two fresh lemons
sea salt
1 garlic clove, minced
1/2 cup raw pistachios
1/8 tsp sea salt

Place the shredded zucchini in a bowl and toss with asparagus.

Then combine the pine nuts, mint, coconut oil, lemon juice, sea salt and garlic and process until smooth. Add a little water as needed until the blend is a sauce consistency. Pour over the zucchini and asparagus and toss to evenly coat.  

Next combine the pistachios and sea salt and process chop finely.  Add a bit of water to make a crumb-like topping.

Raw foods for health are just that simple, the delicious and that powerful for the best body, the best life.
