What/who are your musical influences?
My main musical influences include Kate Bush, Tori Amos, the Finn Brothers (Crowded House/Split Enz), Nina Simone, Ani Difranco, Richard Shindell and lots of Scandinavian music.
What does veganism mean to you?
Veganism means that I don't contribute to the suffering of animals and help spread the word so that others can do the same and still live healthy, happy, tasty lives.
Do you speak about being vegan in your songs? Why or why not?
I speak about all aspects of my life and do have a few songs where I mention it including 'Some of Us' which is purely an animal rights song but my music reflects all I am so it makes sense that there are many themes running through the music from animal rights, depression, travel, love, sexuality etc.
What are your plans for 2014?
My plans for 2014 are to finally finish and release my first full length record by late Autumn.
Tour Western Canada and England.
Make my first music video.
Adopt a second homeless kitty.
Learn how to make my own wine with wild fruits. (vegan of course).
Grow a little veggie garden.
Do more yoga.
Write more poetry.
Get more sleep.
Master the art of vegan baking!....again :P
