I'm back home in Brisbane now, but have spent the last three weeks in my birth town, Fremantle in Western Australia. On the 15th November I gave a talk at the new Perth Cruelty Free Fair which was organised by Animal Liberation WA. It was a beautiful day with a lot of people. All the speakers were speaking about food or giving a food demonstration, so I was really thankful that I was able to deliver a speech about ALL the things beyond foood.
With the mainstream media watering down the meaning of veganism with it's dietary and weight loss focus, is the vegan movement losing its core ethics? There are more benefits to being (and staying) vegan than just diet and health. Others include environment, labour rights, human rights, animal rights, ethics, feminism, and other intersectionality issues.
